Big is beautiful. Whether it's Elvis-style quiffs, rock chick locks, or funky flicks – it's all about volume. And we've got some tips to help you keep your movie star style in shape with minimum effort.

Adding a little height to your hair is a speedy way to rustle up a whole new look. Simply take the front, fringe area section, lift it up and gently backcomb. Then twist once and secure with a couple of hairgrips. A little fine hairspray will hold your look in place. Quiffs look great either with the rest of your hair left loose, or pulled back in a mid-height ponytail.

Tousled temptress

The easiest way to cascading waves is by combing volumising mousse through your damp, shower fresh hair before twisting it into a bun, and letting it dry naturally. But if you can’t bear the wait, try heated tongs. Take sections of hair at random, wind them around the barrel of the tongs and let your strands spring back full of shape. A heat protective spray will help ensure you don’t cause damage to your locks.

Flick it up

For Farrah Fawcett-style flicks, start off by rough-drying your hair from underneath, with your head bent down. Then comb your hair flat and use a large barrel brush to blow-dry the ends with an upwards curl. Follow up with ceramic straighteners, stroking the plates down your hair and finishing with a flourish at the tips. A generous spritz of maximum hold hairspray will ensure your flicks don’t flop too soon.

Sunsilk’s range of hold and protective sprays and creams will help you keep your gravity-defying styles firmly in place, and take the best care of your hair.
