World Food Programme
Our partnership with WFP builds on a long tradition of Unilever as a responsible company, firmly rooted in local communities all around the world.
Every child deserves to fulfil their potential
Together for Child Vitality is our partnership with WFP to improve the nutrition and health of poor school-aged children, while raising funds and increasing awareness of the issue of child hunger.
Unilever believes that every child deserves the nutrition and hygiene he or she needs to develop to their full physical and mental potential. Hunger and malnutrition are still the biggest risk to the health of children worldwide, denying 400 million a good start in life.
Making a contribution to solving this problem is one of our Vitality Life Goals and a priority in our corporate responsibility strategy.
Facing the challenge
We know that no one can effectively tackle child hunger alone. The challenges are too large and complex. Partnerships with other businesses, governmental and non-governmental organisations and communities around the world are the best way to achieve our objectives.
Our partnership with WFP builds on Unilever's long tradition of responsible corporate behaviour, delivered through businesses firmly rooted in local communities all around the world. This partnership will focus that contribution and, in so doing, can inspire us all.
Employee contribution
Unilever aims to offer its people stimulating ways to broaden their skills and experience while at the same time giving something back to the community. Salvatore Lucia, a supply chain manager from Italy, was one of the Unilever specialists seconded to the World Food Programme (WFP) as part of their professional development. He is helping WFP Ghana deliver its school feeding and nutrition programme – and learning valuable skills to bring back to the business.
Unilever believes that every child deserves nutrition.
