Flora Heart Age

Does the idea of taking ten years off your age appeal? Luckily you don't need miracle lotions and potions - feeling youthful is about having a healthy heart. Your Heart Age can be older, younger or the same age as your birth age, and when it comes to staying young, it's the only age that really counts.

The heart-health diet and lifestyle

Take the Heart Age test and you'll receive a 12-week diet and lifestyle plan tailored to your specific needs. It's generated by your response to a short diet and lifestyle questionnaire, which is then matched to your priority risk factors.  Every two weeks, you'll receive practical advice, an action plan, recipes, work sheets, activity logs and food and drink diaries, direct to your mail inbox. At the end of the programme, you can discover the difference these simple lifestyle changes have made to your heart health.

Eat well

  • Choose Flora instead of butter - you'll be switching bad saturated fats for good polyunsaturated fats, omega 3 and 6 plus heart healthy vitamins.

  • use fresh or dried herbs instead of salt when you're cooking, to add extra flavour.

  • Replace some meat in casseroles with beans, peas or lentils - they're packed with fibre and low in fat.

  • Swap high-fat cheeses such as Cheddar, cream cheese and cheese spreads for lower fat versions such as cottage cheese, low-fat soft soft cheese and reduced-fat hard cheeses.

  • Try steaming, boiling or grilling, instead of frying.
